Education Director compensation?
I do a lot of teaching in terms of lectures, house staff projects, mentoring research, and now they have asked me to be the Education Director, what amount of pay should I ask for? |

Using a simple methodology, calculate what amount of time you will have to give up and what exactly you will actually give up. So if it is a day per week of clinic that you will give up, then calculate your collections for that day and this will be the minimum you should be reimbursed for being the education director. Same calculation if you are giving up an OR day. If you are not currently getting some remuneration for the teaching you are doing currently doing, add the required salary to your new calculation. |

Then if you think that 10% of your time will be devoted to this, then ask for a 10% salary increase. |
